Drawing and Anxiety Study

We’re recruiting!

If you are interested in being a participant, please have your parent fill out our interest database. We are currently recruiting 13-17 year olds.

This study investigates how engaging in drawing activities may relate to anxiety in adolescents and young adults. Participation involves visiting the Emotion Development Lab for approximately 1.5 hours. In the lab, you will complete questionnaires about your self and your emotions. You will also be asked complete a drawing activity. We will record your heart rate activity throughout the visit, which involves placing self-adhesive non-invasive electrodes on your skin. We will also ask you to complete a follow-up questionnaire sent to you via email one week later.

This study is a collaboration between the Emotion Development Lab and Dr. William Doan, a professor in the School of Theatre.

Please email or call the head of the research study, Dr. Sarah Myruski, at (814) 865-9514 if you have questions, complaints, or concerns about the research.
